Anchored Back Extension: COMMON MISTAKES!
Make sure your knees are squeezed together tightly for the duration of this exercise. Continue to push them into the floor. You do NOT want them elevated off the ground, or coming apart; if they do, they won’t help you properly anchor your pelvis and decompress your spine.
Another thing you want to avoid is hyperextending the spine. Keep the back of your neck long, and continually practice decompression breathing. This should NOT look or feel like a cobra pose from yoga!
Do not use your hands as leverage. They should be floating off the ground with your elbows by your ribs.
With these tips and tricks, your anchored back extension should be good to go!
