Your First Visit

Initial Consultation

When you visit us at Main St. Chiro, you will be welcomed by our friendly team of chiropractic assistants Alex, Katie or Max. They are here to make your life easy and stress-free.

They will check you have completed all your intake forms, which you would have received by email before your appointment, and make sure everything has been filled out correctly. They are here to assist you with any queries you may have before you meet Dr. Dylan or Dr. Caitlin.

Your chiropractor will sit with you and go over:

  • An in-depth health history
  • Explain what chiropractic is and our approach to health care
  • A comprehensive chiropractic assessment including physical, neurological, postural, balance, muscle and range of motion testing
  • Insight scans to evaluate your nervous system, looking at neurological function and the effects of spinal stress on your overall health
  • The doctor may request and go-over your previous imaging (X-Ray, MRI, CT) if available, or take some X-Rays of your spine (if required).

Your Second Visit

Report of Findings + Adjustment

Usually scheduled within a few days after your initial consultation, your second visit will include a report of findings and an adjustment. The Doctor will explain how chiropractic care can benefit you, go over your results, answer any questions you may have, and set out a personalized plan to meet your goals.

What to expect:

  • Exam results (Review your Insight scans, spinal exam findings, X-ray reports (if applicable)…)
  • A plan to support you achieve your goals, achieve the results you want and optimize your performance
  • Explain what we need to do and what you need to do to get results. Frequency of adjustments required
  • Your first adjustment

During your first adjustment, the chiropractor will explain to you what they are doing and why, and what you will experience.

We use a number of different techniques and approaches, and everyone’s experience will vary depending on their needs.

Third Visit Onwards

Subsequent Adjustments and Progress Visits

After the doctor’s recommendations and following your care plan, following visits are more streamlined.

The doctor will assess the function of your spine and nervous system and evaluate what adjustments are required on that visit.

At the progress examination, we are re-assessing you to see how you have adapted to your care plan and see if we can move to the next steps of your care. Depending on the results, we will be able to determine those next steps and make recommendations to support your goals.
